HOlidays.... meant for travelling? Not necessarily so...
Ever since the holidays begin, i've heard of ppl going on trips to various places... Bangkok, Seoul, Japan, China, Australia etc etc......Kinda envious also la... coz i dun have such luxury.... Nonetheless i think my holidays have been rather fulfilling so far. Although it's been the same since i enter uni, I still enjoy the Inter-Hall Games very much. The trainings and competitions... think i can only experience in uni... after graduation, probably there's no such thing for me anymore. I enjoy sports n games a lot.... though my appearance may really make tat claim doubtful... hahaha. It's understandable anyway. I've been gaining weight ... lots n lots of weight! Its kinda surprising how hard it is for me to lose weight... really....i exercise a lot but somehow i never slim down.... probably my fats are all saturated fats... haha.. or maybe it's due to the endless supper trips after the trainings.... :PSo far, the IHG has been filled with mixed emotions... Many reason.. on n off the pitch.... I'm now more involved than i originally intended to..... Started off with hockey, takraw n chess in mind, I thought i wouldn't be so busy ... somehow... I got involved in softball n badminton too.... but i'm not complaining.... get to learn a new sports( ie softball) and also finally realise my dream of playing badminton for my hall! Come to think of it.. it was my 1st time playing as Men's Singles in a competition! My 1st competitive match in years came out of the blue when 20 minutes before the start of the match, I was informed that the actual player was injured and they needed a replacement... and so.. as luck would have it.. i was asked to be the replacement.... 20 minutes was all i had to warm up n try to regain my sense/touch for the game... not to mention my lousy fitness level that's definitely not up to standard..... I got off to an edgy start but it doesn't take long for me to realise that the opponent is someone i can beat.... even if i'm not the 1st choice player for my hall, I still have my pride too!! After all, I'm no greenhorn to the game... So, realising that i'm faced with a weaker opponent, I focused myself and pushed myself to play as well as i can..... it wasn't easy coz i'm not as fit as i used to be in JC and i commited a couple of errors... my body felt sluggish and i was moving kinda slow.... Luckily, i managed to pull thru in the end, with the ever loud supporters who never gave stopping cheering.... 21-13...game won for me... That sure felt great coz i won and it's one of my favourite sports too! Maybe i will still need to play for my hall .. depending on the recovery of the actual player who i replced... He's definitely better than me but i'll do watever i can if i get to play again......
Many more trainigs and games to come... hope i'll lose some weight!!!
